Lancer is the story of a rancher who struggles to hang onto his vast holdings in California's San Joaquin Valley with the help of his two sons and his ward. Younger son Johnny was taken from his father by his Mexican mother when he was only around two. He grew up around the Mexican border and went by the name Johnny Madrid under which he earned a reputation as a fast gun. Deservedly so apparently as men from his past occasionally show up to cause problems for Johnny and his new found family. Teresa O'Brien, daughter of Murdoch's murdered ranch foreman is Murdoch's ward and a surrogate sister to the two boys..
Laramie was a television series aired on NBC from 1959 to 1963. Laramie was a Revue Studios production which originally starred John Smith as Slim Sherman, Robert Fuller as Jess Harper, Hoagy Carmichael as Jonesy and Robert Crawford, Jr as Andy Sherman. Later Spring Byington and Dennis Holmes joined the cast as Miss Daisy Cooper and Mike Williams. It is the 1870s in Wyoming Territory. Slim Sherman and his 14-year-old brother Andy try to hang on to their ranch after their father is shot by a land grabber. They augment their slight cattle ranch income by serving as a stagecoach station near Laramie.

Medical Center was a dramatic television series which aired on CBS from 1969 to 1976.
The show starred James Daly as Dr. Paul Lochner and Chad Everett (Richard Bradford in the pilot) as Dr. Joe Gannon, surgeons working in an otherwise unnamed university hospital in Los Angeles. The show focused both on the lives of the doctors as well as the patients showcased each week. At the core of the series was the tension between youth and experience, as seen between Drs. Lochner and Gannon. Helping the doctors was efficient Nurse Wilcox, played by Audrey Totter. She started out as a bit role but was eventually upgraded to co-star status starting in 1972.!!!

Dr. Kildare came to television after having been an extremely successful series of movies in the 1940's. There was something immensely appealing about the story of a young intern in a large metropolitan hospital trying to learn his profession, deal with problems of the patients and win the respect of the senior doctor in his specialty, internal medicine. Kildare was the young intern, Dr. Gillespie was the father figure and Blair General the hospital in which they practiced medicine. During the course of its run, Dr. Kildare went through an evolutionary process. By the third season Kildare was promoted to resident. His intern buddies from the first season, Dr. Agurski and Dr. Gerson were not seen in the subsequent seasons as the program came to center more closely on the patients and their families. In the 1965-66 season the show was aired twice a week as a half hour program rather than once a week for an hour

Ben Casey was a medical drama series which ran on ABC from 1961 to 1966. The show was known for its iconic opening titles, which consisted of a hand drawing symbols on a chalkboard, as cast member Sam Jaffe intoned, "Man, woman, birth, death, infinity." Pioneering neurosurgeon Joseph Ransohoff was a medical consultant for the show and may have influenced the personality of the title character.
The series starred Vince Edwards as medical doctor Ben Casey, a young, intense but idealistic surgeon at County General Hospital. His mentor was Doctor David Zorba, played by Sam Jaffe. At the beginning of the 1965 season, Jaffe left the show and Franchot Tone replaced Zorba as new Chief of Surgery, Doctor Daniel Niles Freeland. The show began running multi-episode stories and Casey developed a romantic relationship with Jane Hancock (Stella Stevens), who had just emerged from a coma after thirteen years.!!!
